About Quiz
The National Statistics Office (NSO), Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), Government of India, is conducting the National Household Income Survey (NHIS) 2026, India’s first comprehensive pan-India survey to collect household-level income data across rural and urban areas.
The survey aims to bridge a long-standing data gap by collecting direct information on income earned from wages & salaries, self-employment, agriculture, property income, remittances, pensions, and other transfers. NHIS will generate reliable estimates on income distribution, inequality, and socio-economic disparities, supporting evidence-based policymaking.
In this context, the Quiz on the Household Income Survey (HIS) is being organized by MoSPI in collaboration with MyGov to raise awareness and promote understanding about the survey and its significance.
राष्ट्रीय सांख्यिकी कार्यालय (NSO), सांख्यिकी एवं कार्यक्रम कार्यान्वयन मंत्रालय (MoSPI), भारत सरकार द्वारा राष्ट्रीय घरेलू आय सर्वेक्षण (NHIS) 2026 आयोजित किया जा रहा है, जो भारत का पहला व्यापक पैन-इंडिया सर्वेक्षण है, जिसका उद्देश्य ग्रामीण एवं शहरी क्षेत्रों में परिवार-स्तर की आय का आकलन करना है।
यह सर्वेक्षण वेतन एवं मजदूरी, स्वरोजगार, कृषि, संपत्ति आय, प्रेषण, पेंशन एवं अन्य अंतरणों सहित आय के विभिन्न स्रोतों से संबंधित प्रत्यक्ष जानकारी एकत्र करेगा। NHIS आय वितरण, असमानता एवं सामाजिक-आर्थिक विषमताओं के विश्वसनीय अनुमान प्रदान करेगा तथा साक्ष्य-आधारित नीति निर्माण में सहायक होगा।
इसी संदर्भ में, घरेलू आय सर्वेक्षण (HIS) पर क्विज का आयोजन MoSPI द्वारा MyGov के सहयोग से जागरूकता बढ़ाने तथा सर्वेक्षण के महत्व को समझाने के उद्देश्य से किया जा रहा है।
Objectives / उद्देश्य
1. To raise awareness about the Household Income Survey (NHIS), its methodology and national importance. घरेलू आय सर्वेक्षण (NHIS) की कार्यप्रणाली एवं राष्ट्रीय महत्व के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाना।
2. To enhance understanding of income-based indicators and their role in socio-economic planning. आय-आधारित संकेतकों एवं सामाजिक-आर्थिक नियोजन में उनकी भूमिका को समझाना।
3. To encourage academic engagement with official statistical initiatives. आधिकारिक सांख्यिकीय पहलों में शैक्षणिक भागीदारी को प्रोत्साहित करना।
Eligibility Criteria / पात्रता मापदंड
The Quiz is open to:
1. Students enrolled in Undergraduate (UG)/Postgraduate (PG)/Diploma or equivalent courses and Research Associates enrolled in recognized Indian institutions, or those who completed such degrees in FY 2025-26. / मान्यता प्राप्त भारतीय विश्वविद्यालयों/संस्थानों में अध्ययनरत स्नातक/स्नातकोत्तर/डिप्लोमा छात्र एवं शोध सहयोगी, अथवा वित्तीय वर्ष 2025-26 में उक्त डिग्री पूर्ण करने वाले विद्यार्थी।
2. Participants must be Indian nationals. / प्रतिभागियों का भारतीय नागरिक होना अनिवार्य है।
3. Winners must submit a bonafide certificate from their institution confirming enrollment/completion (FY 2025-26). / विजेताओं को संस्थान से प्रमाणपत्र प्रस्तुत करना होगा।

Terms and Conditions
Terms & Conditions / नियम एवं शर्तें
1. Students enrolled in Undergraduate (UG)/Postgraduate (PG)/Diploma or equivalent courses and Research Associates enrolled in recognised Indian institutions, or those who completed such degrees in FY 2025-26 and Participants must be Indian nationals. / मान्यता प्राप्त भारतीय विश्वविद्यालयों/संस्थानों में अध्ययनरत स्नातक/स्नातकोत्तर/डिप्लोमा छात्र एवं शोध सहयोगी, अथवा वित्तीय वर्ष 2025-26 में उक्त डिग्री पूर्ण करने वाले विद्यार्थी तथा प्रतिभागियों का भारतीय नागरिक होना अनिवार्य है।
2. Quiz will start as soon as the participant clicks on the ‘Play Quiz’. / प्रतिभागी द्वारा ‘Play Quiz’ पर क्लिक करते ही क्विज़ शुरू हो जाएगा।
3. The quiz is available in both English and Hindi. / क्विज़ अंग्रेज़ी और हिंदी दोनों भाषाओं में उपलब्ध है।
4. Multiple entries from the same participant will not be accepted. / एक प्रतिभागी द्वारा एक से अधिक प्रविष्टियाँ स्वीकार नहीं की जाएंगी।
5. It is a time-bound quiz: you will have 300 seconds to answer 15 questions. / यह एक समय–सीमित क्विज़ है – 15 प्रश्नों को हल करने के लिए 300 सेकंड दिए जाएंगे।
6. Winners are determined by the highest score. In case of a tie, the shortest time taken will decide the rank. / विजेता का निर्णय उच्चतम स्कोर द्वारा किया जाएगा। टाई होने की स्थिति में, सबसे कम समय लेने वाले को उच्च रैंक दी जाएगी।
7. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the organizers reserve the right to amend the terms and conditions of the competition at any time or cancel the competition as considered. / अप्रत्याशित परिस्थितियों में, आयोजक किसी भी समय प्रतियोगिता की शर्तों में संशोधन या प्रतियोगिता रद्द करने का अधिकार सुरक्षित रखते हैं।
8. Organizers will not accept any responsibility for entries that are lost, are late or incomplete or have not been transmitted due to computer error or any other error beyond the organizer’s reasonable control. Please note proof of submission of the entry is not proof of receipt of the same. / आयोजक उन प्रविष्टियों के लिए उत्तरदायी नहीं होंगे जो तकनीकी त्रुटियों के कारण विलंबित, अधूरी, खोई हुई या गलत तरीके से प्रेषित हुई हैं। प्रविष्टि जमा करने का प्रमाण उसकी प्राप्ति का प्रमाण नहीं माना जाएगा।
9. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, organizers reserve the right to amend or withdraw the Quiz at any time. For the avoidance of doubt this includes the right to amend these terms and conditions. / अप्रत्याशित परिस्थितियों की स्थिति में, आयोजकों को किसी भी समय क्विज़ को संशोधित करने या वापस लेने का अधिकार सुरक्षित है। संदेह से बचने के लिए इसमें इन नियमों और शर्तों को संशोधित करने का अधिकार भी शामिल है।
10. Organizer’s decision on the Quiz shall be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the same. / क्विज़ पर आयोजक का निर्णय अंतिम और बाध्यकारी होगा और इस संबंध में कोई पत्राचार नहीं किया जाएगा।
11. By participating in the Quiz, the participants shall abide by all the terms and conditions of the quiz competition, including any amendments or further updates. / क्विज़ में भाग लेते ही प्रतिभागी इसके सभी नियम व शर्तों, साथ ही किसी भी संशोधन या अपडेट को स्वीकार करने के लिए बाध्य होंगे।
12. The terms and conditions henceforth shall be governed by Indian laws and the judgments of the Indian judicial system. / इन नियमों और शर्तों का संचालन भारतीय कानूनों के अंतर्गत होगा और भारतीय न्यायपालिका के निर्णय ही मान्य होंगे।
13. All disputes/ legal complaints are subject to the jurisdiction of Delhi only. Expenses incurred for this purpose will be borne by the parties themselves. / सभी विवाद/कानूनी शिकायतें केवल दिल्ली के अधिकार क्षेत्र के अधीन हैं। इस उद्देश्य के लिए किए गए खर्चे पार्टियों द्वारा खुद वहन किए जाएंगे।
