About Quiz
Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs) pose a significant threat to mountainous and downstream communities in India, especially in regions like the Himalayas. These sudden floods result from the breach of glacial lakes, causing large-scale damage to lives, livelihoods, and infrastructure.
To enhance awareness and promote preparedness, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in collaboration with MyGov, is organising an online Quiz Contest on GLOF Awareness.
This initiative aims to educate citizens about the causes, impacts, and preventive measures related to GLOFs, encourage community resilience, and promote knowledge of government initiatives for disaster risk reduction in vulnerable regions.
Objectives:
1. Awareness Generation: Educate participants about the causes, warning signs, and impacts of GLOFs..
2. Encourage Participation: Engage citizens in understanding risk management and resilience strategies.
3. Promote Knowledge: Foster understanding of NDMA’s and other government efforts for reducing GLOF risk through planning, monitoring, and mitigation.
Gratifications:
All participants will receive an E-certificate by MyGov.
हिमनदीय झील के फटने से आने वाली बाढ़ (Glacial Lake Outburst Floods – GLOFs) भारत के पर्वतीय और निम्न–क्षेत्रों के समुदायों के लिए एक गंभीर खतरा हैं, विशेष रूप से हिमालय जैसे क्षेत्रों में। ये अचानक आने वाली बाढ़ें झीलों के टूटने से उत्पन्न होती हैं और जीवन, आजीविका तथा बुनियादी ढांचे को भारी नुकसान पहुँचाती हैं।
जागरूकता बढ़ाने और तैयारी को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए, राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण (NDMA) द्वारा MyGov के सहयोग से GLOF जागरूकता पर एक ऑनलाइन क्विज़ प्रतियोगिता आयोजित की जा रही है।
इस पहल का उद्देश्य नागरिकों को GLOF के कारणों, प्रभावों और रोकथाम के उपायों के बारे में शिक्षित करना, सामुदायिक लचीलापन को बढ़ावा देना तथा आपदा जोखिम न्यूनीकरण में सरकारी पहलों के प्रति जागरूकता फैलाना है।
उद्देश्य:
1. जागरूकता सृजन: प्रतिभागियों को GLOF के कारणों, चेतावनी संकेतों और प्रभावों के बारे में शिक्षित करना।
2. भागीदारी को प्रोत्साहित करना : नागरिकों को जोखिम प्रबंधन और लचीलापन रणनीतियों की समझ में शामिल करना।
3. जानकारी को बढ़ावा देना : योजना, निगरानी और शमन के माध्यम से NDMA और अन्य सरकारी प्रयासों की समझ विकसित करना ताकि GLOF जोखिम को कम किया जा सके।
पुरस्कार :
सभी प्रतिभागियों को MyGov द्वारा एक ई–प्रमाण पत्र प्राप्त होगा।
Terms and Conditions
1. The quiz is being organised by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) with the MyGov platform./ इस क्विज़ का आयोजन राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण (एनडीएमए) द्वारा MyGovप्लेटफॉर्म के साथ किया जा रहा है।
2. Entry to the Quiz is open to all Indian citizens./ क्विज़ में प्रवेश सभी भारतीय नागरिकों के लिए खुला है।
3. The Quiz is available both in English and Hindi language. A participant may choose either of the languages./ यह क्विज़ अंग्रेजी और हिंदी दोनों भाषाओं में उपलब्ध है। प्रतिभागी इनमें से कोई भी भाषा चुन सकते हैं।
4. The quiz will start as soon as the participant clicks on the ‘Start Quiz’ button./ जैसे ही प्रतिभागी ‘क्विज़ प्रारंभ करें’ बटन पर क्लिक करेगा, क्विज़ प्रारंभ हो जाएगी।
5. Entries once submitted cannot be withdrawn./ एक बार प्रस्तुत प्रविष्टियाँ वापस नहीं ली जा सकतीं।
6. Questions will cover various aspects of GLOFs, including causes, risk factors, impacts, and safety measures./ प्रश्न GLOF के विभिन्न पहलुओं – कारण, जोखिम कारक, प्रभाव और सुरक्षा उपायों – से संबंधित होंगे।
7. Participants can only enter the quiz competition once. Multiple entries from the same participant will not be accepted and considered./ प्रतिभागी केवल एक बार ही क्विज़ प्रतियोगिता में भाग ले सकते हैं। एक ही प्रतिभागी की एक से अधिक प्रविष्टियाँ स्वीकार नहीं की जाएँगी और उन पर विचार नहीं किया जाएगा।
8. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, organisers reserve the right to amend the terms and conditions of the competition at any time or cancel the competition as considered./ अप्रत्याशित परिस्थितियों की स्थिति में, आयोजकों को किसी भी समय प्रतियोगिता के नियमों और शर्तों में संशोधन करने या प्रतियोगिता को रद्द करने का अधिकार सुरक्षित है।
9. The decision of the NDMA and MyGov on the Quiz shall be final, and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the same./ NDMA और MyGov का निर्णय अंतिम एवं बाध्यकारी होगा, और इस पर कोई पत्राचार स्वीकार नहीं किया जाएगा।
10. Participation in the quiz implies full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions./ क्विज़ में भाग लेने पर, प्रतिभागी उपर्युक्त नियमों और शर्तों से बाध्य होने के लिए अपनी सहमति प्रदान कर देता है।
11. All disputes/ legal complaints are subject to the jurisdiction of Delhi only. Expenses incurred for this purpose will be borne by the parties themselves. / इस प्रतियोगिता से संबंधित सभी विवाद/कानूनी शिकायतें केवल दिल्ली न्यायालय क्षेत्राधिकार के अंतर्गत आएंगी, और इस संबंध में होने वाले सभी खर्च प्रतिभागियों द्वारा स्वयं वहन किए जाएंगे।
